Graduate (PhD programs)

With the approval of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, SUTIC offers all its academic courses in PhD Program in English. The minimum duration for a PhD program is 4 years (8 semesters) according to SUT rules and regulations. The average course work requirement for a PhD program is 18 credits. A PhD degree is a requirement to become a university professor, researcher, or scientist in many fields. In the PhD programs you will complete courses and workshops and attend conferences all geared towards enhancing your research and networking skills.
 

PhD Program Duration and Commitments

The minimum duration for a PhD program is 4 years (8 semesters) according to SUT rules and regulations. Extension of the studies is possible for a semester upon the request from supervisors and the approval of SUTIC Graduate Studies Office. The average course work requirement for a PhD program is 18 credits, which may be chosen according to the research topic and must be approved by the supervisor. The number of credits taken by the PhD student cannot be less than 6 credits or exceed 12 credits in each semester.

Program Details

 
  1. All graduates are awarded the Official Certificate of Sharif University of Technology, Kish International Campus accredited by Iran Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
  2. Educational Exemption is provided for the Iranian male students as SUTIC sends referral letters to the Office of Compulsory Military Service.
  3. The university obtains student visa for foreign students.
  4. Medium of instruction is English and all the courses are held in English.
  5. The programs are held at the International Campus of SUT on Kish Island.
  6. Students of the International Campus cannot request to be guest students or transferred to Sharif University of Technology in Tehran.
