The 3rd entrepreneurship-related competition known as Materials Challenge was taken place as part of efforts to familiarize students with real-world industrial challenges, promote teamworking and empower students to solve industrial issues. In this competition, two industrial challenges in two categories, Extraction of metals and Polymers, were presented by Fartak Iranian Research and Innovation Company and Parsa Polymer Sharif Company, respectively, as sponsors of the competition. The competition saw the participation of 60 students of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering from all study levels, with each group consisting of 2-4 students.
